Dr. Bob,
Obviously there was quite a lot going on on Admin yesterday. Today, I see there are many posts missing. I have a couple of questions. What was the criteria for deleting the posts? Is it safe to assume some posters were blocked or given PBCs?
Thanks, in advance, for helping me to understand and feel safe to post.

There is no way to absolutely prevent a determined person from posting, but I do wish that the rules were better respected in the first place.

In the interests of continuity, they should have probably be seen as "replies" rather than "new threads" and deleted as well.
Which is not in any way to imply that I think the deleted posts were an attempt to hurt anyone.

Thanks, Lar. I appreciate your response. I guess I just wonder about the "secondary" conversing in the deleted threads that didn't even seem to pertain to the blocked poster. Do those posts go unnoticed and unreviewed for civility? If that's the case, can anyone say anything they want no matter how uncivil as long as it's in a thread where a blocked poster is posting?
Sorry - don't expect you to answer. Just thinking out loud and hoping someone or maybe Dr. Bob can answer.
Thanks again for the information.

I guess I just wonder about the "secondary" conversing in the deleted threads that didn't even seem to pertain to the blocked poster. That is a technical issue. Deleting single posts is very difficult (at least, that's what Bob has said in the past), particularly if they appear in the middle of a thread (it has to do with what are called pointers, in geek speak (at least, I think so)). The only practical thing to do is to take out the thread from the point where the block-violator first posted. That's my understanding, anyway.
> Do those posts go unnoticed and unreviewed for civility?
If they're gone, that becomes moot, doesn't it? I think I might have gotten a free pass, on one occasion, because of that, so I may be a biased commentator.

I wouldn't push it, intentionally. But you might be right.

Well SmartiePants (you SHOULD consider a name change some day), I started the Trolls 101 thread, and the poster responded to that in her droll-troll manner. Her post is gone *poof*, but others on that same thread are still there. Was my thread SO outstanding that Dr. Bob (aka Mr. Bob...Hi KK) jumped through hoops to retain it, and yet removed the offending reply? Eh??

Also, the person who's posts remain had her blocke extended to two weeks for posts on another board since she was posting when she was banned for one week. Ugh, that makes no sense at all.
Anyway, she was sanctioned earlier last night perhaps before Dr. Bob got to Admin. I don't know if he would give someone multiple sanctions for multiple posts that he thought were uncivil.

I don't *really* put chocolates in underwears, you know...

Well, this made me very cornfused. Then I membered that you are a foreigner from a far away land where they might do something whacked like call Smarties something different than we do in the US. Here Smarties are not a chocolate candy, but a um...little tart fruitie thing that comes in a mini Life Saver roll shape. I hit Google for the answer.
"Ce De Candy only owns the trademark to the name Smarties in the United States. Outside the United States, Smarties is a registered trademark of Societe' des Produits Nestle' S.A. and are more like M&M's. If you are in Canada, and want your tart and sweet favorite candy look for Rockets!"
And btw, the image of chocolate in your (or anyone's) underwear, is, ummmm....gross.
And I said PANTS. As in slacks. In Canada do they call PANTS underwear????
And please keep it administrative or Mary will yell at us! :-)

This is the end of the thread.
