to devaluation after all?
Is it not just a matter of my experience?
I wish emotions could be muted
and sane
and amenable to reason
I wish dissociation worked 100%
or meds
or drugs.

Me too. Or even 90%. :(
To be honest, I've never seen all that much idealization at Babble. Perhaps it's the silent majority. ;)

idealization and devaluation are two sides of the same coin. it is better to accept that meds, coping methods, etc. are palliatives that do not substitute for a normal CNS. But I walked out of my last T session telling her that I would be satisfied with nothing less than what I want, which is to be a functional human being.
But nothing, nothing substitutes for a normal CNS, when it comes to meeting society's definitions of "functional." I like to think I have my own ideas, but clearly there is a conflict here.
