Dr. Hsiung,
I am requesting that you give a determination as to if the following is acceptable under the guidlines for posting here.
I felt accused and put dow and humiliated when I read the following:
[...Wouldn't it make more sense to first check whether or not anybody wants to hear what you want to share?...].

It does imply that some people might not be interested, but that's different than you (or what you want to share) not being interesting, so I'm going to let it stand.

I'm sure that deprecation was not the poster's intent. I would like to add that it is not always desirable to discourage contributions that might not be initially of interest to anyone, as this is many times how desirable change occurs.

SLS,
You wrote,

Thank you for making this observation and I appreciate it. I think that your obsevations go to how I felt after I read the statement in question as to feeling put down by the statement.
Best regards,
Lou

Lou; can I just check if you have read and thought about Kali's suggestions? They made sense.
On a personal level, I can see the point of having a separate thread for issues you want to share, then its up to the rest of us whether or not we read/respond to them? We all retain the right to chose what we read/respond to. Partly just down to time- I wouldnt be able to read everything!
And please be aware that your message on antisemitism was open to misunderstanding? I was very concerned that it might imply that many of us were making anti-semitic comments, which is a very serious accusation. But I have decided I may have misunderstood.
And I'm not sure if it would suit you, but there is the option that you write down things as you think about them into (say) a Word document, then put a day's worth into one posting? I realise this may not suit you- just an idea.
I appreciate that you may well understand this message in a way quite different from what I am actually trying to say.
I should let you know that I dont look at this board often, so if you reply to this post I may not reply quickly, simply as I havent checked the board. Nothing personal.
