On another board I used to belong to, I was able to see how many users were on-line (I can't remember if their names displayed aswell). That was a nice feature. I never felt that I was the only person on-line. And if I was, I knew why I wasn't getting replies.
A feature like this a possibility?

That's one of my least favorite features at other sites. It seems so intrusive to me. I know it's not personal, it doesn't say who is on line. But it still feels like an invasion of my privacy.

I know that before I made myself "private" at another site, anytime I used the feature and checked the "who's online" feature, if someone else was also doing that at the same time, I felt like I was caught peeping or naked or something. Yuck.

I think the feature is fine so long as one has the privacy option.

Another thought, it might change the nature of the boards, as people might start conversing with whoever is there at the same time as them. I am about 10 hours ahead of y'all, and it is hard enough keeping up with everyones posts. I don't think many people are on the same time as me...
