Taking a break

Posted by Dinah on August 23, 2004, at 18:06:28

As Dr. Bob's deputy. I've got a lot of other things on my plate right now, and it feels like it's time.

I really want to thank Dr. Bob for giving me the opportunity to help out here. I will always appreciate his confidence in me. :)

A well-deserved break, you mean.

All of your hard work has always been appreciated.

Thanks.

It's all yours now.

Dinah - you must be exhausted from all the deputy work that has had to be done. It's time to take care of youself. And be just a regular babbler.

First, Dinah, thanks for a job well done! The ride's been bumpy at times, but you've been great, and I really appreciate everything you've contributed.

I guess this is a good time to ask if anyone else would like to give it a try? You wouldn't need to approach it exactly the way Dinah did, different people will naturally have different styles. There's room I think for up to 3 new deputy administrators.

If you have any questions or would like to volunteer, feel free either to post here or to email me. Thanks!

Bob

Thanks, and...

It was an emotionally rewarding experience for me, and I think it could be for others who are interested as well.

Dinah, you were awesome!

Where you the first and only one to have done this job?
I never thought of you leaving this position.
Thank you Dinah, you were awesome!
You've got big shoes to fill.

Yes, there are/were others. Medlib is still a deputy, and Tabitha was one. I'm not sure if Mark was ever a deputy, but he filled in for Dr. Bob while he was gone.

I think there might be another possibility besides volunteers - remember most here have self esteem problems???

Perhaps Dinah could nominate people she thinks would be good? Not here, publicly, lest she be accused of playing favourites(grin), but by email?

the job description?

What are the requirements of the job?
job description.
Is there a trial period?
How do you consider the people applying?
what if they make mistakes?
who reviews the people?
does the job have a length of time then get renewed, or do you run for the position and there's a vote....hey and that's only the beginning of my questions.
I must rush off to work.

Redirect: the job description
