i need it! ack! i'm becoming addicted! (and i can't even tell if i spelled becoming correctly!) ok, at this point, i need answers and i need them fast. (and answers doesn't look right either) i need to set that blasted anti-addiction thing on my computer (and can i un-set it if i need to? did i make up the word un-set? is it possible for me to ask anymore questions in this post?)
how do i do it? don't tell me to go to faq, as i went there and was trapped for 4 hours straight, dumpster diving... someone send me straight to it please.... i need help and soon, or i'm throwing this computer out the window... honestly, give me the direct link or give me canada! (jay, here's lookin at you kid! i'm on my way to canada or montana or good god, out of this frickin chair!!!!! and mood!!!!!, if someone doesn't send me a link.. think i'm joking? i've been called a lot of things in my life, but when they called me crazy and impulsive, they weren't lying!)

karen: as a recently-banished poster - and friend of yours - i do wish you would have called me (you have my phone number) or sent me an email in re: anti-addiction limits. i will be more than happy to hold your hand in setting the required parameters. i work with computers for a living and we could have sorted this out in a different manner.
dr. hsiung: you are the expert, and the moderator. clearly karen is frustrated and is trying to get banned from this site by deliberately posting an offensive and insulting missive directed at you. in light of an easy solution to the problem at hand - e.g., a fellow poster (not necessarily me, any will do) can and will navigate the anti-addiction limits if you ask, i am certain- can you profer some advice for one of PB's most valued assets (keren, that is) instead of a lengthy block?

KK - At the top of each Babble board, in the midst of all the texty stuff, look for the red tag that says XML. Then look down about 3 inches. You'll see the place to set the option. I clicked on the high-lighted words "Anti Addition Limits", and got this text.
"If you have a case of "Internet addiction", this site lets you limit how often you may view and refresh the main pages in any 24-hour period. The first period starts with the visit during which you turn on the option, ie, your next refresh after that counts as your second. Refreshing the main page obviously counts as a refresh, but so does going elsewhere and then coming back. If you use up all your refreshes, you're taken instead to your browser's home page. Subsequent periods don't start until you visit again. This does not limit how many posts you view or how many times you post. If you change your mind, you can turn off this option. All this also requires Javascript and "cookies"."
Perhaps this will get you started until someone more knowledgeable can post, or until you are spanked by Mr. Bob - whichever comes first. Obviously you were just looking for a quick ride to the methodone clinic.

It's not KK's fault that she was #!&! frustrated by confusing screens. The main babble boards where the info is on Internet Addition (with all the text at the top) are really scrambled looking.
KK should not be punished for design "challenges". A nice PBC will do just fine, dontcha think?
