I see there has since been an apology. Frankly, I'm not sure how I feel about that, but I appreciate that it was given.

she/he did apologise.
i would not want to make anyone feel unwelcome over an error..
i feel this board is turning into a tattle tale extravaganza..

I think a PBC still needs to happen so it gets logged in the magic log book in case another lapse occurs, a block would follow. As in..."you've been warned before, etc."

An apology is a wonderful thing...but the offense was not minor. Sorry B, but we have to be careful here with the feelings of our Babblers.

I'm sorry you feel that way. I haven't heard "tattletale" since grade school, and I probably was one. I always thought it was better to rely on the people who were in charge to maintain order than to slug it out myself. And since I know Dr. Bob would prefer that we inform him of posts rather than respond to the posters in a way that might be uncivil, I think the people who follow Dr. Bob's wishes should be commended rather than called tattletales.

My two cents from one who still feels it's the moderator's responsibility to handle these things.

please dont be " sorry i feel this way".
i was thinking the constant "tattletaling"(which has increased over the years)may make the posters feel unwelcome...
it just feels a little underhanded to me.

Don't feel bad Emmy. Mine is too. :)

It's not something I feel bad about, certainly. The other way to do it is to email Dr. Bob privately.

Multiple choice - Dr. Bob

Was Believe not given a PBC because

a) You did not consider the original post for which Believe apologized uncivil?

b) The Apology After Offense was considered valid even under the circumstances (Posting under more than one name, which to me would seem to negate the Apology. Perhaps there should be a rule that Apologies After Offenses aren't acceptable if a poster is committing another civility violation at the time.)

c) The Please Don't Post Under More Than One Name at Once is equivalent to a Please Be Civil, so a Please Be Civil would be be redundant.

d) Some other idea I haven't yet considered.

This one wasn't angry either, Dr. Bob

Truly. I was just curious as to the admin process involved. Since you were on the board between the time of the original post and the apology, and offered no comment on the post, I always sort of wondered whether you had considered it civil. But it's impossible to know if you were on that *part* of the board during the time.

Isn't it nice when that happens? Gotta love it, and even need it, sometimes. Like I'm always going on about being concerned that I'm too wordy, and someone might jump in to give me a compliment on it instead. It sure helps at times, and we deserve it! ;- )

Plz keep it Administrative! (grrr.....) :-) (nm) » spoc

Also, I may not have said so, but I block the new name in these cases.
