A computer question for my techknowledy friends

Posted by Noa on June 13, 2004, at 19:34:19

What do I do for a sticky mouse ball? I think I played too many games and now the mouse ball is very sticky and makes the mouse impossible to use. Is there some kind of surfactant spray or something to make it glide again?

Thanks.

I JUST TAKE THE BALL OUT AND CLEAN IT WITH WINDEX AND IT WORKS FINE AGAIN. I HOPE THAT HELPS

<<<<< Yeah, me too, or even just rub it with a cloth. Noa, if you look underneath at the circular plate around the ball, you'll see that it can be turned and removed. Then the ball comes out. Sometimes dust and crud builds up in the mechanisms inside the mouse right around the ball too. If so, I pick that off with a pin.

You'll probably see that your mouse gets more accurate after you do these cleanings -- kinda like getting the brakes in a car fixed!
