What Happened!?(a techno-admin question)

Posted by EscherDementian on January 27, 2004, at 23:59:54

My bookmark program takes me straight to Psycho Babble page, not homepage log in. The "new" markers for the posts i haven't read yet and the colored difference in the posts i have read since last log in are a real boon to me and timesaver: two of the many features of this site that i appreciate very much.

Tonight when i clicked the Psycho Babble bookmark and was magically transported to the page, ALL of the posts were marked "new" (including ones of the past week that i have read and written) and NONE were differently colored.
Please tell me if this is an error in my own technology, so i can learn what i need to fix it, OR if something has been tweaked on your end?
Suggestions?

Thank You,
Escher

Deleting cookies might do it.

That happened to me when I installed a spyware detector. Have you installed a new program lately?

Anytime you get weird things on a web page that are appearing new or aren't appearing new- try deleting your temporary internet files and cache. It's easy- in your web browser go to Tools>Internet Options. Click Delete Cookies, then click Delete Files (these are the cached pages- this will allow the page to grap the new data from the website rather than using cahed info, which may play around with the process that the "new" markers are captured. Clearing your history may help this as well. It's good to do those three things on a monthly basis. It helps keep your connection speedy and bug free (for the most part) :)

For very clear and understandable directions :)

Not exactly a techno-phobe, here, but my 99% brain focus spent experiencing/expressing hands-on art, teaching Montessori (kindergarten), and a fascination with new physics & metaphysical realities ...has left me a bit of a slow techno-tard...

Thanx with sincere gratitude to you~
