Math - Dr. Bob

Dr. Bob,

I have significant respect for you and this board.

Please understand that my math skills have taken a real nosedive with my depression. I don't trust my math at all. So I'm hoping that I have made a silly mistake.

But I am a little confused about something. In the FAQ it says:

I may block them from posting for a period of time. How long? Usually I start with a week and double it each subsequent time.

I would interpret this to mean that the first block is for 1 week, the second for 2 weeks, the third for 4 weeks.

This isn't what I've seen with recent blocks. For instance, Zenhussy went from a 2 week block to a 6 week block. Lou went from 16 to 48. Paxvox also went from 2 to 6. That is tripled, not doubled.

I remember a discussion about possibly changing this algorithm, was it changed? I'm sorry if I missed it (but the FAQ still has what I quoted above.)

It is easy to confuse me these days, I look forward to your enlightenment.
