I find this rather selective that this post has not been tagged for civility.

I thought that making assumptions and so forth were part of the guidelines in the FAQ.
So Dr. Bob and the deputies please take a closer look at ALL the posts in that thread because Linguini isn't the only one saying things that could be taken as a put down by others.

fayeroe,
As the deputy reminded you over on PSB: please try to be careful not to do so in a way that could lead others to feel accused or put down.
So please be aware of your above post as being interpreted as possibly accusatory or having the look and tone of an insult or put down.
Thank you.

I think that it is someone who regularly posts here and wanted to put something in under an assumed name because she was scared to do it under her name. So she could attempt to hurt Beardy. So, turn me in again to the deputy administrator if this offends you. I couldn't care less if you feel put down and I sure don't care if Linguine feels put down.

Dr. Bob,
In the past ANYONE making the statement "I couldn't care less if you feel put down and I sure don't care if xxxx feels put down" would be blocked after they have already been asked to be civil.
I see you've already made one pass through the boards this morning admin wise so is this acceptable? According to the FAQ and your past responses the above words from the poster are not supportive and downright insulting.
Any input from the admin regarding poster safety? I certainly do not feel safe when other posters are allowed to tell me they don't care about how I feel.
I await your response.

I am still puzzled--although there were some things said in the thread about the former babbler that clearly were negative, by one particular poster (and yes, I see now from the "testing" post that it is likely someone with a brand new name), others in the thread said only nice things about the former babbler, and just expressions of missing her. Other than the one unfair comment about the archives, etc.that came from the "new" poster, I didn't see anyone pursuing any answers as to why the person left. I think those who felt obligated to protect the person's name might have had a lot more success just saying, "She's fine, taking a break." or something brief to that effect, and the thread would have probably been a lot less heated and much shorter.
I am also puzzled at why so much anger at Shar? Shar posted a very benign post about the issue of asking after someone we might miss, even respecting the request to leave names out of it:
http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/social/20030506/msgs/225601.html
And then, I feel some extremely unfair accusations were made toward Shar in the following post:
http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/social/20030506/msgs/225662.html
I am, as I am sure others here are, truly sorry that the former babbler felt traumatized here at babble. She is someone I enjoyed having around. I respect her choice to stay away from babble, though, and wish her well.

I think those who felt obligated to protect the person's name might have had a lot more success just saying, "She's fine, taking a break." or something brief to that effect,
noa, that was why it was short and to the point. "she's fine, happy and bearded"....I didn't feel obligated to protect her, she asked me to do this for her and I did out of friendship and respect. That's all. And it seemed to me that people could not just take it as it was and leave it alone. She asked her friends to help her out.
We tried. Fayeroe p.s. I have no problem with people missing her, caring for her, asking about her........BUT she asked us to do it. And we did it. (And out of respect for you as a good person, i'm leaving the "notify me" check in but i am not doing it on social. i'm really tired of this. but if you want to reply, i'll get a notification.)

I know it got stormy over there, but please do remember that one goal here is to be supportive, and it's not supportive to say you don't care how others feel. Thanks,
Bob

i e.mailed you and asked to have my registration removed. please do that. linguine, who is a fake name, started the whole sarcastic bit and then Alii went around notifying Dinah about PBCs and I felt that if they could express themselves, so could I. PLEASE REMOVE MY REGISTRATION AS I ASKED YOU TO DO. THANKS.

Why don't you just quit posting, instead of being such a bleeding drama queen.
