I am amazed--Dr. Bob, how do you have the time to keep abreast of the goings on here? Are you still doing this yourself or have you been able to get any assistants?

I believe it might be possible to ease your load a bit by getting some PBC bots that randomly issue PBC's to posters on the different boards.
The result would be as usual, people would take sides, discuss it, act like humans. Probably, a couple of additional PBCs should be included (randomly and by bots) amongst the posts that follow the original PBC.
I believe the bots could probably be programmed to pick up on certain words in posts (stupid, you suck, insulting, bitch, etc.) and then issue a PBC or two on that basis (but, I still would make sure it's random as to who gets the PBC...just to keep things interesting).
Always keeping an eye out to make your life easier, Dr. Bob,
I remain,
Yours truly,

You crack me up. :-)
But the idea of picking up on certain words has come up before. I'd need to decide which words, but lists are probably online. Then maybe one way to do it would be:
1. Flag those words during the posting process.
2. Let the poster go ahead and post if they want, since the bot wouldn't be taking into account the context.
3. But then go straight to blocking them (without giving them a PBC first) if in fact their post isn't civil.
What do you think?

I think this is definitely a workable idea.
I'd hate to lose the element of randomness, though. You know, like the bots could assign a PBC (or even block) to the poster who comes *after* the offensive post (or the 3rd poster, or 7th or nth). Just to keep things interesting.
