Squiggles, honestly I meant no disrespect. My post was a sincere attempt to clarify that Dinah was acting as deputy moderator, and as such, she can PBC and block people after there are more than 2 "uncivil" posts in a thread.
SLS and Squiggles, I orginally saw your posts and thought it might be just playful banter, and I just let it go. It can be hard to infer tone from a couple of posts though, and Dinah saw it differently. I also know Dr Bob has sanctioned people in the past for joking with an edge, so Dinah's reaction might actually be more consistent with Dr Bob's guidelines than mine was. I suppose the risk with edgy banter is that some people might not get that you're joking, and as such, it might create an unsafe atmosphere where people appear to be free to insult each other. Dr Bob has generally chosen "more safe" over "more free" in the past.
I know it's frustrating to feel restricted.

It is hard to judge what tone a person conveys in their posts. I'm glad that you said you were inclined to let it go, thinking it was just banter back & forth. It's for this reason that I don't want to be a deputy moderator. By stepping in & censoring what I'd consider to be harmless, I'd feel a hypocrite.
Don't worry, Tabitha, that I'll consider you a hypocrite & view what you write with a jaundiced eye. I won't. The hypocrite part is only referring to me. I don't doubt it's pretty hard for you to step in & make a judgement call.

Aren't you supposed to - in the redirect - give the URL where the offending post originated? I thought that was the custom here...

I apologize if i appeared uncivil;
i may have lost my temper. In my
journeys on the net in the past two
years i have encountered frustration
at not being able to arrive at true,
convincing beliefs about pharmaceutical
matters and the possible malpractices
on my health. In my case, many medical mistakes may have
happened which have degraded my life,
and though i do not wish to blame any
one, i really don't know the causes. This
is one of the reasons i subscribe to so
many conflicting groups -- i am still trying
to discover the causes of so many medical
misadentures. But i find that while one group
is very much to the "right", another one is
so far to the "left" as to be unbelievable.
It is hard to find middle ground. So, i hope this can be taken as an explantion
for my polemic attitude at times. Thanks for being very nice inspite of it all.

Then you're staying, Squiggles? Good, I hope so.
I take very much the middle of the road approach - meds, attitude, diet, exercise, herbs & supplements if they help, a little of everything. I don't think we can zero in on one cause for what happens so shouldn't limit ourselves to one only approach.
This isn't admin stuff except to say I'm glad you explained why you got upset. Like I said, I wouldn't want to be a moderator but I think Tabitha is doing so the best she can.
