Have you ever gone into your pdoc appt with a list of questions? I have.
Then halfway home, you realize that they really didn't answer any of them. I have.
What are some of the courses psychiatrist are required to take?Evasion 201: Here you will learn the art of the non-answer. AKA the side-step boogie.
Untruth: 6 years. Here you will learn how to catch your patients lying while, at the same time, learn to be an excellent liar yourself.
Diet, exercise, spirituality, faith: No requirements.
Empathy: Psychologist only. They fake it much better. Hugs? Are you nuts?Pills, shapes, and colors: Sign up early and bring your crayons.
Caring: Hey, we're doctors. You expect us to help and care.
Investing: 8 years.
Laughter: Or, the bluer(?) the patient, the greener your wallet. How to suppress laughter.
Transportation: A study of the finest European cars so you will know what's hip. But if your patient complains about money, be sure and say,"That's not important to happiness." If you have some, of course.
Minimizing: This course deals with side-effects of those pill things we prescribe.
How are you sleeping? 8 years
How does that make you feel? 8 years
Bullsh*tting: Fun course that covers topics such as..We'll have you well in 6 months. My first shrink actually told me that.

How to appear awake after: a. Returning from 3 weeks in France. b. Getting plastered with your drug rep at the best restaurants money can buy.
My pdoc, after 3 weeks in France, had her head tilted sideways, resting on her hand while she 'listened'. Jet lag. I didn't ask for a discount. I said, you're pretty tired, aren't you? She said yes, jet lag. I actually like her very much as a doc but jeez. She won't do 15 minute med checks. I actually agree with that even though I have to pay $100.00 for 30 minutes.
If I ever get off meds, I'm investing all this money in hookers. They're more ethical.
I'm a civil servant here in Texas. I spend close to 15% of my take home, near poverty wages on mental 'health'. I work hard. Many don't.
About 10 years ago, a state employee was caught with an extensive database of johns and working women on his state computer...thriving business. Lots of politicians and preachers no doubt.
When he was caught, he walked out in the middle of one of Austin's busiest streets and shot himself. Maybe it was the parking lot, bad memory.
I guess it's time to up my nosexa back to 60mg.
I'll be back when I can get propped up again.

I 'dated' a hooker for a short time (unintentional pun)whilst living in the far-east; she certainly had a more finely honed set of..ethics than I did.

Whooo boy. I am sorry that you're feeling bad. I rather enjoy the dry, biting humor types, but I feel guilty laughing at posts with underlying pain.
Please do me a favor and be as nice to yourself as you are funny! :)
