You know, I don't think I've ever talked to you in all the time you've been here, but it's pretty amazing how you maintain your cool while everything else is going bonkers.
I think that's pretty cool, and so are you.

Too funny. Reminds me, I had a wacky idea that we could all swap screen personas for a while. Just for fun. Maybe the last Friday of every month...

Shar:
I recall a post of yours in which you had told Lou you'd prefer he responded to others in one post, rather than a series of them. Since then, you've been doing just that, as well as responding to others Lou-like ways. (It's not exactly subtle.)
See, many of us had been complaining about a handful of what we thought were arbitrary rules and unfair punishments. Someone is told that two wrongs don't make a right. Someone else is blocked for being sarcastic. (And you criticized us because we left in protest.)
I guess what I'm saying is that you're lucky satire and parody aren't uncivil. Because, especially in light of your agreement that it's best to post once, rather than in a series (which you have been doing on other boards), it sure looks like you're making fun of someone.
I happen to think it's funny. (But then I think sarcasm is often appropriate.) I am wondering (not assuming) whether someone else would be blocked right now for doing the same thing, or if you have indeed found a safe way to make a good point.

Full moon might be a more appropriate time. It'd never be the same day.

This is the first time in many, many weeks that you've responded to anything that I've posted (since sometime in May if I'm not mistaken, because I was computerless for awhile during that period).
I thought we had hit it off pretty well, but then it got all silent. So, I appreciate you dropping me a line.

Beardedlady,
Thank you for your interest in Shar's responding in "Lou-Like ways".
I have always wondered why someone would emulate another. I found out that ,sometimes, one reason is that the person that emulates another person really admirers that person.
Also, I have found out that ,sometimes, the person that is emulating another person is showing honor to that person and wants to be like that person by doing the same things that the other person does.
But time will be the judge, as to whether your observation that Shar is "making fun of someone" is correct, or that Shar really is striving to be like me.

It was nothing personal. Either I didn't see a post that called for my response, or I was away. I am away much of the summer and don't spend nearly as much time on the computer.

Actually, you're on my smartypants list (with bookgurl and Iso, Wendy, Zo, Mark H., etc.). But I have to admit I didn't appreciate the things you said about those of us who chose to leave due to problems with the higher ups. I could see your point, yes, and I could tell that you were speaking more out of hurt than out of disrespect. But I was sad you couldn't see why leaving was the opposite of the selfishness you thought it represented.
And as far as leaving goes, where there's bad grammar, there's beardy. But since I was robbed, I have been busy with a mix of pampering and community activism, so I'm not of much help to those who need it, nor do I have time to read a lot of posts. It goes without saying that I wish everyone good health and good cheer, even if I can't post it every day.
Iso will be around for talk of mangoes. And I have a little trouble staying out of controversy. : )>
Take care,
beardy

We haven't chatted much either, I'm bummed.
This is the end of the thread.
