2 cents and then I'm out

Posted by Lini on June 3, 2002, at 10:29:39

Dr. Bob

Just wanted to let you know that I am using this site less and less because I find it tedious to keep track of the different boards and don't enjoy the direction the site is headed in. Not that you should do anything differently, but since part of this is research focused, I thought you might want the feedback. I am glad it is working out for everyone else, it just doesn't happen to work for me.

all the best

Would it be possible to create a portal-like page? Kind of like Yahoo or whatever has on their site, that would list the different boards, any new updates, yada, yada, yada....

I've been thinking about that for awhile, but never remember to bring it up....

i love the one liners, like they actually solve something.

the point that i am trying to make is that the various boards make it a bit overwhelming to join/read/support a discussion, and i don't like the new set up, and i don't find it supportive. basically, i don't like this site anymore. that's my take on things, and thought you'd want to know. It's not really a topic for discussion, or silly banter, i am probably the only one annoyed, so it just is what it is.

Lini,

We don't always see eye-to-eye but I do admire and respect your convictions in what you believe in. I hope you stick around and keep us honest.

Wasn't there a thread a short while back where a lot of feelings got hurt. . .where one of your famous-Bob-zen-phrases was taken the wrong way?

And in the end, you made it clear to us that the intention behind your words was warm, helpful, humorous. . .

I'm thinking this is happening again.

Before I was part of that rich exhange, where I felt I got to know you a little better, your responses made me very nervous. I couldn't tell, were you a nice guy?

Maybe someone not on that thread would still be nervous. Maybe women even moreso.

Men who have trouble expressing their feelings can resort to short and pointed questions. . that would read, on paper, exactly like your posts. Anyone brushing someone off, brushing off emotional truth.

I remember on that thread, you asked that we trust you more. I thought I would give you more of an idea of what you're asking.

There's probably a way to let women on the board know right off the bat. . .you're a safe guy.

Just some thoughts,
Zo

Just found this . . . thanks, you're sweet. Calling them "convictions" instead of obsessions or temper tantrums. ;)

I'm around. Less so, on my own terms, but still with respect for Dr. B and the support that gets offered here (even if I disagree with the format and its limitations).

smile,

L
