It just hit me...that the reason most people get gagged is for being unsupportive or rude...but then is this not a natrual product of free expression ?
Yes I know that this argument has been well trounched (i just made that word up)..but its an issue thats still here three years on...perhaps some balance needs to be brought to psycho-babble in the form of one of the good doctors students or colleagues..
Or a democracy..how about a voting system..rather than a top down rule..
or at least a bit more freedom...and fun...how about a spot called psycho babble ungagged..where people can be rude and uncivil and just say what they feel like..a place where all uncivil posters get re-directed to rather than have to sit in the corners of the web for a week.. a place where liberty is prime and justice is for the sad..
and while i'm ranting all this re-direction might be confusing but I appreciate its necessary to keep the good Doctor an extra reason for sitting in front of his PC rather than have to be bored with the company of single patients..but once the thread gets re-directed theres no reference to the previous posts to that thread meaning hassle..hassle
Oh yes and while..no thats it for now..no its not I just want to say Dr Bob..without your guidance I would still be a loudmouth who keeps blabbing over the voices of the crowd..now..i'm a more civil loudmouth who keeps blabbing over the voices of the....

Hey, what's the deal? Dr. Bob is trying to do what's best for the community. How are these insults going to further your cause? In fact, they only serve to support his view on things.

Sorry, didn't realize you were kidding... which is surprising since I have a very dry sense of humour and usually pick up on everything! Well, it was like 4:00am and I've been very argumentative since I started Nardil so who knows? Anyway, sorry 'bout that :)

A few of my favorite posters are on this thread, but regarding this particular issue, I see things quite differently.
Since I'm battling dysphoria right now, I can imagine that I would like the "ungagged" concept myself. I'd like it for all the wrong reasons, however, and it would probably be counterproductive to my attempts to use PB as a resource in improving my health.
I doubt that "ungagged" would have much to do with getting well. It would be all about brewing up more angry, irritable, and/or negative thoughts. Rather than serving as a vehicle for people to safely, constructively "let off steam", it would quickly become a breeding ground for angry, hostile outbursts. Why? Because that's what depressed people do! We see the glass as half empty, and the world as cruel. We don't need a release of these thoughts and feelings, we need a cure for them.
Anything that doesn't meet the current profile for posting etiquette, doesn't belong on Psychobabble at all, in my opinion ~ and it sure doesn't need its own special platform.
I look to Babble as an intelligent, insightful, supportive harbor....
Why should Dr. Bob sponsor a place to manifest the symptoms of mental illness? There are plenty of dark and ugly bulletin boards on the web if that's what one wants to experience. alt.support.depression.medication (ASDM) is one of them. Give it a go and see if you still want Psychobabble to begin dabbling in that kind of material.
I don't recommend it, but it does a beautiful job of illuminating the hideous nature of Pandora's box.

Sometimes it's very hard for me to figure out whether the post is fact, thought or haha. I wish there could be a code so I could figure the message intent out.(Sorry out should have been after figure). My mind and humor just don't compute any more. I just get confuseder and confuseder. I can't decide which, if any, posts I should just skip. Maybeit's becoming a mute point as it's been fairly benign lately -- That is, unless i'm, misreading the words intent again :(
