Dr. Bob,
There's a post re getting buprenorphine from the internet on psychobabble today. I think it may be a new poster who doesn't know what the rules are about "trading" information about getting meds.
Is there a place where this is specifically written up? My assumption is that it is fine to talk about where the best place is to get FDA approved drugs with a prescription. But I'm not even positive about that.
Anyway, when I started to let the poster know the exact rules concerning sharing where to get medications off the internet (or anywhere), and discussing prices, etc., I realized that I don't actually know the exact rules. I'm also not sure where it is written out (or if it is written out).
Could you direct me, please. I think it is important enough for it to be mentioned in the introduction to PB and maybe linked to the exact rule. It would save a lot of time for those of us who feel some obligation to let a new poster know; it would also clarify that this is not an individual response from the reader, but a board rule. The last time this came up, the poster thought that he/she was being "attacked" personally by another poster.
Or all this could already be there and I've just missed it (won't be the first time).

Thanks, yes it *is* very clear. I don't think, though, that someone would think to go there and look about what is legal re meds unless they are directed there.
But maybe too much information explaining the rules on the first page of PB would be too complicated.
I'm not sure.

> I'm not sure.Right, I'd rather not overload people at the very beginning. So I've tried to list just what I think are the most important points there.
And in cases like this, the information can be deleted and the policy can be explained to the poster after the fact, which I think is good enough.
Thanks for letting me know about this!
Bob
