If I go to a religious board where people post about how God has changed their lives or a Republican board and tell them Lou's story. Stretch it out over several weeks, I guess that would be my right to freedom of speech.
If I tell the religious folks a tale about satan appearing on a black horse, how I'm a better person for it, that's my right.
Would I do it? No.
In this world, the only people we can hope to influence are our family and a close circle of friends. That's the truth.
If I come to this board one day and am lost as a goose as I have been before, and I mention that I'm considering this or that religion or church and would like feedback. I'm sure someone would say, go for it.
But as I said before, if God is not on this board already, without stories, then someone doesn't know how God works.
He works through people just like us, whether we have accepted him or not. The vast majority of posts on this board are to support each other and occasionally, try to get someone through a crises.
That is how God works. My belief is that God supports what he sees here.
It's not who's right or wrong or religious or not. Jesus said to go into a village, tell our story, if they don't buy it, dust off your feet and move on down the road.
Lou, you are putting Jesus' words in the mouth of a guy who you talked to 30 years ago that was wearing a Nazi uniform and riding a white horse.
Just because people here have trouble with that, just my opinion, really bizzare story does not mean we aren't spiritual people in our own right.
It doesn't mean we're anti-religion.
My personal opinion is that you're story is not credible. I think your intentions are honorable and I respect you for that. Just don't ask me to believe your witnessing.
In my 49 years on this planet, I've never heard anything like it and if a friend came up to me with that story to tell, I'd get him to a psychiatrist.
Your story is obviously true to you and that's all that matters. But I'll wager you a $ to a donut that, in reality, it never happened.
Does that make me a bad person for challenging you? In some people's eyes it will.
I guess in the end you still have your rights here but if I were selling something and nobody was buying, I'd move my shop. I'd go where the customer's like my product. I was in retail for 20 years. Your intentions are good, it's your marketing strategy that needs some work.
If the baseball team a lady friend of mine works for started selling hamburgers instead of hotdogs, even if they were good hamburgers, the customers would go nuts. I want hot dogs. Why does the word block keep going thru my mind?
Nothing personal Lou,
Phil

I've worried that some might feel I am anti-religion.
"It doesn't mean we're anti-religion." -- per Phil.
I'm absolutely not either! Just to clarify. That's why I was to careful to state my concern was people depending "solely" on God to cure a physical illness in past posts.
Just musing...

Friends,
I am not anti-medicine. I believe in medicine. I am not a member of the groups that deny their children to have medicine or blood transfusions to save their life. I believe that death is an enemy. And that we should fight the enemy.
When i was in the City of Peace, I heard it said, "O death, where is your sting? O grave, where is your victory? For thank God that we have the victory." Then the Rider said,"If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death." Someone said," Abraham is dead, and he was the Father of the jews.". The Rider said," Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day and he saw it and was glad." "Before Abraham was, I am."
I,Lou , experianced this. I have never taken LSD or any other hallucinogenic drug.

Phil,
You said that the only people that we could hope to influence is our family and a close circle of friends, and that that is the truth.
I believe that we must all be the exempler.I believe that we must hope to influence evryone. And I believe that there are people reading this board that are not my friends or my family. I believe that if I tell my story about how I overcame depression and addiction , that someone also may be able to overcome on the basis of what I said that enabled them to start their journey to overcome their affliction. I believe that what I am saying here is just as important to someone as what you are saying here. Perhaps someone reading this right now has hate in their being and wants vengence. Perhaps that person will read in the Gates that the Gates open when you forgive. And maybe the poison of hate will go out of that person and they will find their way to the City of Peace and they will be freed from the slavery of their depression and addiction. I am asking that the Gates not be blocked. I do not hear the word "block" as you do. I hear ,"Come to me, all those that labor and are heavey laden and I will give you rest."

Carry on Lou. I don't really want to debate this. Wish I could keep my mouth shut sometimes. I didn't want to insinuate that you leave the board but had some things I had to put down on paper, as it were.
I think your beliefs are valid but it's way out of my realm.
Keep on truckin,Phil

Lou,
Then finish telling the story, period. You started the story of the 7 Gates 5 months ago and you have yet to finish it. A message of this much importance seems to be something that should be delivered quickly shouldn't it? Finish the story Lou, and then let those who wish to follow your example follow it, but be prepared to respect the wishes of those who don't by letting that be the end of it.
Methinks thou doth protest too much...
Be well,
Greg

Amen to that! I don't think anything going on here is about free speech or anti-religion. I think Lou is a one issue guy and totally and very selfishly relentless. The fact that people may be really tired of the "message" and damn testy about it does not mean that they are anti-religion. It just means that Lou has promised a hell of a lot more than he's delivered - and the message has been lost in a messenger who has made himself and not his message the focus of all of his efforts. Please, Lou, find another issue - another way to contribute to this Board before there are no more posters and no more Board.

Mair and Greg,
Thank you for your interest in the 7 Gates . I would very much like to finish the Road and you must understand that I have been blocked for 7 weeks. Also, I must answer important issues brought up on this board, for I am just like you. these issues do take away from the Road, but I feel that they are extreamly important for me to be invoved in. there are other issues also that keep me from finishing. Onr is that I am a person with no literary talent and I have to oporate under the rules of this board. Now that does cuase a delay. But I think that all thses issues are going to be worked through in the near future. There is one stumbling block, though. And I am trying to work that out . It is with myself, for since there are so many here that want me to leave, I may have to do so.
Lou
