Civility question for Dr. Bob

Posted by Dinah on February 10, 2002, at 9:03:16

I really wanted to jump in with a "please be civil" reminder last night, but I didn't want to overstep my role as poster.
But it occurs to me that not saying anything could be considered as uncivil to and unsupportive of the poster being insulted.
It also occurs to me that you can't be here all the time.
What would you have a poster do when confronted with gross incivility towards another poster? What wording would be appropriate?
Thanks

Dinah, I'm not Dr. Bob, of course, but I think your 'please be cicil' comment to the others was weel worded & gentle. I think you did the right thing myself. I was starting to be put off by it too.

I agree, thanks for saying something, Dinah. Like with "support", it's not like there's one right wording. In general, anyway, good intentions show through. :-)
