Rules of Civility

Posted by Krazy Kat on January 29, 2002, at 11:39:13

I just found this on a yahoo supprt group and thought it was an interesting compromise:

"Please understand that rants and blowing off steam are not uncommon parts of surviving this illness, so they will be allowed whenever they are not directed at another member. "

So how about you blow off steam there when you need to and then come here afterwards? :-)

I think I'm already more likely to let something go if it's directed at a non-member. But my concern is that a lot of ranting would make the atmosphere less welcoming...

because no other board is as good as Babble. :) Seriously.

I guess I'm just trying to define my "own" rules, trying to figure out what sets me off, so to speak. I really hope we can continue to debate on this site, but certainly understand the need for etiquette.

No other board is as good for blowing off steam? :-)

That's certainly a worthwhile goal. And I have no problem with debates, as long as they're civil...
