I know that medications past expiration dates lose some potency. But since I have taken .75 xanax greenstone generic all of that time and have at least 3 months of it expired and can't afford psychiatrist and GP refuses to prescribe it. Is it safe to take and maybe a good way to wean off of it. 76 years old is to old for my brain to switch off just like that. Thanks. Phillipa

Hugh thanks so much. So going to assume that the 15-20 year old xanax is safe to take. What a shame it is that doctors are so terrified of losing their licenses that they either allow people to live in pain due to so called opiod crisis or heaven forbid an older person can not do what their pdoc said to do before they retired and that was "If it ain't broken then don't try to fix it". This is what works for me at low dose of .75mg per night. Again thanks Phillipa
