Here is an article I found recently, comparing 32 old and new antipsychotics based on different criteria, including (but not limited to) efficacy and weight gain propensity.
Title: "Comparative efficacy and tolerability of 32 oral antipsychotics for the acute treatment of adults with multi-episode schizophrenia: a systematic review and network meta-analysis"

Placebo is the most effective? If that makes you think, call your psychiatrist immediately

Ah ok, Placebo is just more studied because it is used in every trial with every med.

It was interesting that brexpiprazole showed such a small reduction in positive symptoms. My mother (who is now back in hospital) stopped brexpiprazole. It was not helping her anxiety or mood at all. It was (possibly) increasing drug seeking. When she was on it, she just kept asking for more ativan. When we switched her back to seroquel this stopped and her anxiety improved.
