this was inbetween the barbiturates and benzos, only had a 5 year period, but for a while Miltown was most popular mother's little helper during a 5 year period. Then they started noticing, at higher doses, it was very similar to barbituates. Meprobamate actually is from a carbamate, (linked an instectiside) just google meprobamate and insecticies. Sounds nasty, but some even today take and say it works them better than benzos.
It said in article reduced tension, but not full anxiolytic effects than benzodiapines. 5 Years of a blockbuster drug, then librium and valiun made history
most insurance, or it' a 4th line of choice of failed benodiapies.....and it's very expensive even generic.

I bought it just once 45 years ago in Morocco.
It felt like a benzo, but is apparently more toxic.

yes, i asked my doctor about it, just out of curisoity, she said that it works, but there were toxins associated with it. But read on medscape, or drugs.com, that people still take it, and they said it works better for them than benzos, after failed trials.
But, meprobamate, it's linked to inseciside, that's why there's toxins associated with it. But i think its after it's metabolized and left the system. My grandmother was the first peroson to tell me about it, she said her sister was on Miltown, and read reports on newspapers that it caused severe pregnacy failure. Alot of people who took it, and had pregancy had toxins, and it caused death or malfunction.
Google meprobamate and insectiside, carbamates, it's an insecticide, im serious, but it's work on the nervous system is a sedative.
This is the end of the thread.
