benadryl is diphenhydramine is sedating antihistamine, it's a serotonin reptake inhibitor but it doenst have antidepressant effects like ssris....it's useful for sleep....say you can't sleep you run up to cvs, or local store and buy a over the counter sleep aid
benadryl is the same substance they use in tylenol pm, or unisom...i've used it before, but if my mind is too active and can't slow down, it densest work, it jjust puts me in a diphenhydramine haze state
but yes it useful for sleep, you can buy it at local stores

Yep I take 2x25mg Benadryl's every night with 150mg Trazodone and it definitely boosts the sedative effect. Without it I wake super-early.
Downside is that if you take it relatively late, it lasts through the next morning and you feel groggy and tired for a while. It's nothing horrific, just not great esp. when you have depression making you tired already.
