Lamotrigine (Lamictal) generic manufacturers?

Posted by SLS on December 12, 2018, at 14:11:58

The following link lists the manufacturers of lamotrigine (generic Lamictal).

Any comments? Good ones? Bad ones?

Hey Scott,

I'd highly recommend reading through the last 3 or 4 pages of this thread about the Teva discontinuation on medschat:

https://www.medschat.com/Discuss/What-Is-The-Best-Generic-Of-Lamictal-244558_p5.htm

I took part under an alias. Ultimately the best generic for people seeking replacement for the discontinued TEVA seems to be TARO. Costco by me in California stocks that regularly but Walgreens etc will order it in if you explain other brands have caused you problems.

You may need a dose adjustment but I know it's been a good replacement for me. I tried Alembic, which Walgreens gave me when Teva was discontinued, and shortly after taking it I got moody and depressed.

I'd love to hear from others who have been conscious of which generic Lamictal they've tried and had success with.

Please follow-up if you try Taro or a different brand. Hope you are well.

I have never had a generic in germany that didnt work like the original. They are very strict about generics here.

Its not an issue at all.

I'm doing a little better. Thanks.

I once tried Mylan lamotrigine. I had to take 500 mg/day for it to give me the type of relief that I get from Lamictal 300 mg/day. Unfortunately, I also experienced cognitive side effects and brain-fog while taking Mylan.
