Came from nowhere

Posted by MightyKondrian on April 13, 2018, at 15:35:31

So, depressed again.
All stopped working, though I was far from remission anyway. I started to get strange tics, a shaking of the head completely involentarty without any compulsion.
I put it down to the Aripiprazole. Seems I was right. The Galantamine, I worked out was doing nothing extra than what I was getting from my otc nootropics anyway so I've stopped that.

Seen the doc today. Again I asked about Tranycypromine but was told they are expensive, with tones of paperwork and generally hard to keep a script going on our lovely NHS. GGRRR! I so want to try it. Also however it would be very difficult to change from my current med regime, washout and knowing what to do with all my current meds. How to titrate or come off them. And mainly because I would find it very hard washing out from phenelzine as I'm currently quite depressed atm.

So, I'm back on Quetiapine XL (increase slowly from 50-200mg). Also given tho go ahead to take L-tryptophan 3g (again slowly increase from 250mg at night). I buy my own L-tryptophan bulk powder so was no need to prescribe Optimax.

All else stays the same.

I received my pouch of Phenylpiracetam (nootropic-psychostim) today. Feels good. And I desrve the break.

See what happens in the comming weeks...

Comments welcome.

abilify is now suspected by some of having an unusually high rate of TD. I don't know what that's about. Maybe its because its often combined with antidepressants?

anyway...sorry about this. switching to seroquel can sometimes keep problems under control while also suppressing tics and such. I don't know a good long term solution, aside from the vitamins recommended by the Orthomolecular people.

is a stimulant a possibility? i have an acquaintance...she takes an all day amphetamine in the morning, seroquel xr at night, and she's doing quite well. seems to cover a whole lot of bases with just 2 psych drugs.

other than that, i don't have any major suggestions. is some sort of talk therapy a viable option?

Yes I will at some point get some CBT or similar therapy. But If I went now my mind wouldn't be able to cope.

Thanx

I'm sorry about the abilify and the tremors and the relapse. Abilify gave them to me, too. Two thoughts on treatment. Amphetamine gave temporary relief as did Emsam. Saphris was more brightening and soothing than Seroquel.

I understand needing enough wellness for therapy; however, dbt helped when I was at my worst.
