this is a tricyclic AD. It can increase the QT interval but it has usually no sexual side effects.

i would not take a tca w/ seroquel, personally.
i still think that if you need something for depression, you should look for something more modern, more stimulating. wellbutrin, maybe see if they will prescribe Provigil or Nuvigil. There's some limited data on Provigil in people stable on neuroleptics, and it seems helpful for a subset of people.
prozac has been combined with zyprexa, with good results for some people. I would think you'd need to have the tranquilizer doses reduced a bit w/ prozac, but i could be wrong.

I like that idea.
Slowly.
I wouldn't go up past 30 mg/day of Zyprexa. You may not need such a high dosage, but I think it is reasonable to keep the dosage of Zyprexa at 20-30 mg/day while manipulating the dosage of Seroquel. Be aware, though, that Zyprexa has been known to precipitate mania in some individuals.

Some Dr told me that Seroquel and Zyprexa compete with eachother at the receptors. Is that true?

I don't know if zyprexa and seroquel compete, but on the group level, people are usually better off on just 1 neuroleptic at a time. I think you'd be better off on just zyprexa, because you'd have far less sedation, which might help your mood.

Zyprexa is less sedating than Seroquel? Why do you think i would be less sedated? I am going to have to ramp up the Zyprexa for sure.

I think that depends upon:1. Your diagnosis?
2. The symptoms you are treating?
3. How does Zyprexa help you?
4. What is your fear were you to discontinue Seroquel entirely?
Answering all of these questions might help people to better address your issues and concerns.
* I've known about opipramol for a long time. It is not available in the USA, and I did not think it would help me any better than imipramine or nortriptyline. Interestingly, opipramol blocks sigma receptors. I would have to do some reading to review what sigma receptors are all about. Linkadge would very likely know about them.
* Xyprexa is much stronger than Seroquel at dopamine D2 receptors.

Unpleasant thoughts and inability to sleep. I am destroyed beyond repair. Anxiety.

If i replace it with equivalent Zyprexa dosages, there is no fear to discontinue it.

hi. i highly doubt you're beyond repair or beyond hope. i do think you should try to get your total neuroleptic dose a bit lower, for safety's sake.

Hi Christempowered, thanks. i did try but i failed. i am thinking about trying low dose naltrexone. I hope there is no lasting damage to be expected.
