I think that we cant explain everything that happens with psychiatric drugs. If you read the prescribing info you will always see it is thought that.
The mind and the brain are much more complicated that we can fathom.

Olanzapine (Zyprexa):
"From the thienobenzodiazepine class (TBZ), Olanzapine (2-methyl-4-(4-methyl-l-piperazinyl)-10H-thieno[2,3-b][1,5]benzodiazepine) (Zyprexa) was used as an example to demonstrate the antagonism of this class of compounds for multiples receptors including: dopamine D1-D5, α-adrenoreceptor, histamine H1, muscarinic M1-M5 and 5-HT2A, 5-HT2B, 5-HT2C, 5-HT3 and 5-HT6 receptors."

Which properties of Zyprexa do you think are responsible for the improvement in anxiety that you experience when you take it?

Social anxiety sucks man. I dont think you can predict how a drug affects you so much. Certainly being pre-psychotic doesnt help social anxiety. Or at least not in a way that you would want.

Is social anxiety your only diagnosis?

maybe it was a dosage issue? it take s alot of seroquel to do much of anything (except sedation). zyprexa is far more potent. it could be that your zyprexa dose was higher than the amount of seroquel you were prescribed. plus...
seroquel isn't a panacea. i hate the stuff, personally. other people respond well to it, w/o eps, td, etc., so that's a good thing.

I know we are all looking for a pill to take, but anxiety disorders - and particularly social anxiety - usually always improve with a good course of CBT therapy.
