I've noticed during my 20 year journey with anxiety and panic disorder my mood symptoms improve during the time I have a cold, especially a head cold. Has anyone else had this bizarre effect?

i've heard and experienced the same thing, when im sick with a cold or a head congestion, my mood is actually not bad.......maybe it releases serotonin while trying to fight an infection, or it's the stasis how the body handles infections

It's ridiculous. I've almost been in full remission last 3 days I've had the head cold. I wonder why the pharma industry doesn't explore this phenomenon to develop drugs that have the same effect.

When I have a fever, my mind becomes much quieter. There is some research about using hyperthermia as a treatment for depression. Increasing test subjects' body temperature one time improved their depression symptoms for at least six weeks. This thread discusses it:

Yes. Why? Endorphins. More are released when you are ill.
