adderall is amphetamine, it improves depression by releasing and also re-uptake of dopamine and norepinephrine, but it wears off....and you have to redose from feeling washed out.....maybe a moderate dose of the XR adderall would help but when i was stimulants, i tried to stop the wash out period when it wore off, talk to your doctor about a scheduele to be on to prevent rebound depression after the wash out period, maybe make a certain times you take it

It is sometimes used to help depression. It didn't work for me. In fact, I had a paradoxical reaction where I felt tired and wired at the same time and couldn't wait for it to wear off.
