My latest bout with increased anxiety and derealization I KNOW mostly has to do with disrupted sleep I have when I have my 2 year old. He only wakes up in the middle of the night once in a while, but the anticipation of this happening gives me insomnia EVERY NIGHT that I have him, throughout the night. I'm considering taking a mild sedative that wouldn't knock me out too bad, considering I'm still looking after my 2 year old, but also would help me get some good sleep. I take 100 mg of Luvox a night, so this should also be worked into the equation. I'm also open to natural products (camomile?) if you think it'll work. Thanks.

Melatonin works for a lot of people. Also trazadone. Neither would make you unable to wake up and care for your child.

maybe high dose niacin or niacinamide, taurine (empty stomach), kava kava (not if you have any liver problems), passion flower...
Some people take premade blends of different things put together. Some people mix their own supplements until they get the desired effect.
I hope you find something you can tolerate that works well.

I would personally not combine melatonin with luvox since luvox inhibits CYP1A2 which can significantly reduce melatonin metabolism. Also, I have found that SSRIs + melatonin just don't mix too well (reduce SSRI effectiveness and just feel yucky)
You might consider low dose mirtazapine, or (if you're in Canada) cyproheptadine. Both are antihistamines and 5-ht2a blockers which can enhance sleep and reduce anticipatory anxiety. I have used both these meds with luvox. Another option might be low dose amitriptyline or trimipramine. If you do add another antidepressant, you may need (or decide to) to reduce the dose of luvox.
If the insomnia is periodic, you could try a benzodiazepine such as lorazepam.
Reducing the dose of luvox (75mg?) may help too as SSRIs can sometimes disrupt sleep on their own.
As for alternatives, magnesium may help. Start with 50 - 100 mg.
