i've read reports that people who take anti-cholinergics causes dysphoria and makes you in a bad mood......to be avoided in depression

Yeah you get dysphoric form to much anti-cholinergics..

When i was on 8 milligrams of Biperiden to cope with the EPS that i got from perphenazine IM long acting, i was very anxious and "out of it".

Same with trihexyphenidyl, it will cause euphoria initially, but after a wile it causes dysphoria to..

The first link you shared is about Salvia Divinorum though, and that is a potent Kappa-opioid.
K-opioids are well known to be dysphoric, but they are also proven to be good for anxiety and there are a lot of substances in phase 3 that are targeting the Kappa-opioid receptor.

It's a matter of balance i think.

Buprenorphine are a k-opioid agonist, and there is a drug under development that are buprenorphine/samidorphan and is going to be an adjunct for TRD, and that is a k-opioid agonist that are not that abusable as pure buprenorphine are cause samidorphan is blocking the MOR-receptor and u-opioid receptor, that equals no euphoria but more therapeutic useful.

So that is not black and white, dysphoria and euphoria are very much alike i would like to say.
Espacially when it is caused by a substance..

Just my thought.

Kind regards

yea ... certain of the opiate - analogs can cause dysphoria, i can totally idenftify with dysyphoria i've had states where i felt like pure dissatisfaction and unpleasant feeling for hours......sometimes after im doing something active, writing, ill suddenly get discusted with what im doing and want to drink alcohol or smoke excessively.....to get that yuk dissatisfaction feeling away

i don't know what causes that.....but clonodine was the WORST depressing thing i took, it made me depressed, klonopin made me depressed, but mainly anti-cholinergic's block a neurotransmitter, and they can leave you feeling like crud, and dissatisfaction.....some people find thorazine and some antipsychosis meds dyshoric, while others find them relieving to their mood......

to get out of horrible mood states, i usally close my eyes and go into trance and totally fogeet about everything i was doing and reboot....
