i've taken trazadone before for sleep, they use it alot at rehabs and psych hospitals for a first line choice, but im just curious, it does make you drowsy but still it's classified as an antidepressant......same thing with doxepin, have you noticed improvement in mood with trazadone? it works on serotonin but it's not a reuptake inhibitor, it does some other kinda of mechanism
did ever help depression or mood?

i am considering this, too. As far as i have researched its worth a shot. No sexual side effects and mild weight gain.

After decades of observing reactions to Traz by other people, I have rarely seen it help anyone in a significant way. Maybe once or twice over the years someone said they really like it, though not remission, but that was rare. Personally I hated it, made my depression worse.

yea trazadone was like .... i didnt rerember any antidepressant effect, it was more just like....sedation, but not pleasant sedation at all.....
it does produce drowsiness and sleepiness but yea i never found any true mood enhancing effect from it, it's a serotonin antagonist....which means it blocks serotonin, but it also blocks reuptake, so thats difficult to understand any antidepressant potential

my reactions to ADs are somewhat atypical. I feel MUCH better on 50mg Trazodone, day two.
There never was anything close to St Johns Wort for me. No AD i have tried over the years came close to it. Just like with Trazodone, they say that SJW is only for light to medium depression. For me it was a HEAVY lifter.
Trazodone doesnt make me gain weight and it doesnt interfere with sexual pleasures.
its worth a shot.
i have some OCDish and anxious stuff, too.
