brain trauma or meds?

brain trauma or meds?
so since i had my severe episode back in Feb/Mar i was put on a new regimine of meds. i have had a lot of cognitive decline but 1)wanted to wait until i stabilized and 2)wanted to give my brain time to recoup or rest. but its been long enough. though i am able to funtion, i am not able to work at my typical 'higher-level' of function that i used to. today was the worst. i did mostly writing of documents so very basic things and i worked for three hours (8:30-11:30) and about 11:30 my brain just shut down.. it was done. i notice it does this when i have thereapy appts. after about 35min with her i'm just done, i cant talk anymore and i cant listen anymore. but i can talk about stupid things like lotion or food. but nothing of substance. i had therapy yesterday and noticed last night i didnt recoup after session like i normally do. this morning i was ok, but had difficulty having the radio on in the car so shut it off (this is VERY unusual for me). and then at work as i said above. its like i could do it for about 3 hours and then my brain just shut off. i've had a mild lingering headache since.

So i know that when having such a severe episode as i did this winter (and as long as it lasted) can have an effect on your brain physically that's why i watned to give it time. but i dont know now if it is from that or if its from the meds? i only pray that is not from the amitriptyline because my mood is so good.
here is my regimine:

Pristiq 50
Adderall 20mg

Adderall 10mg
Gabapentin 300mg

Gabapentin 300mg (prn)

Lunesta 3mg
topomax 25mg
Amitriptyline 75mg
ambien 12.5mg

*******
i know for a fact that its NOT the pristiq, adderall or the gabapentin as i've been on that for years without these issues.

the ambien i only seem to be taking every other night, sometimes skipping 2 nights if i dont feel i need it. and i dont seem to notice a different in cognition. so i guess that narrows it down to either the:

Lunest, Topamax or the Amitriptyline.

My T thinks its the topamax as she had been on that before and had similar issues. but now i've read some posts above about anticholegenic meds and cog. decline and amitriptyline is one of them... :(

i did call pdoc today to make appt. see him in 2 weeks.
and i'm done being on computer. my brain is shutting off and saying no more. so i probably wont even look at posts till tomorrow. but i thank anyone of their advice/information.
thank you

topomax can cause cognitive problems. I doubt the Elavil helps very much...I had some cognitive slowing on Tofranil for a while.

a big big suggestion for cognitive decline is Namenda, they use it for cognitive difficultes and usally it does well with a stimulant

if your on adderall, you could have the dose increased, and have it taken 3 times a day to sustain the psychostimulant effect, personally adderall is waker upper, dexedrine is more smooth and less speedy, its more for focus, adderall is more like getting you going in the morning, and staying sharp, it depends on the person's brain anatomy which one to use

there's also Aricept

this is website that sells nootropics for cognitive improvement:

antidepressants are no better than placebo and their long term effects are unknown
