Started Stablon

Tianeptine has mild mood enhancement properties, but what i found out, it's a Selective Serotonin Reuptake Enhancer, so....it does the opposite of an SSRI, it increases the reptake of serotonin but it does it where helps mood, for a while i thought it was going to work against the prozac, because it does the exact opposite, increases reptake, while fluoxetine blocks reuptake

it's ok....it's effects are notable but nothing wonderful, it's a enhancement for antidepressants

Hi rj,

I believe I tried Stablon once. It was in the form of a nasal spray and it got me really high. So much so that I never took it again. Maybe I accidentally took too much, not sure.

I'm curious to see how you do with it. Please report back with your experience :)

Btw- I'm pretty sure it was prescribed to me for pain after a car accident but I'm not seeing anywhere that its currently used for that.

Also I wanted to add that the "high" I got from it was pleasant but I was in no shape to function normally after taking it.

RJ,

Although there is some evidence to support the idea that tianeptine acts as a serotonin reuptake enhancer, the role that serotonin modulation might play in the therapeutic efficacy of the medication has been called into question. In addition to possibly enhancing the reuptake of serotonin, McEwen et al. (2010) have noted that tianeptine has been found to oppose the effects of chronic stress on brain structure and plasticity, possibly via BDNF and/or glutamate-related mechanisms. The authors went on to conclude: "The neurobiological properties of tianeptine involve a dynamic interplay between numerous neurotransmitter systems and the critical ability 1) to restore normal neuroplasticity in circumscribed limbic brain regions and 2) to reverse stress-induced impairments in synaptic glutamate transmission, which plays crucial roles in virtually all key functions perturbed in depressed states."

I took tianeptine for a few months along with Abilify several years ago. I didn't notice any benefits other than what seemed to be a bit of a boost in energy and mood during my first few days on the medication, but then again, no other medication or other form of treatment ever seemed to keep working into the long run for me when used along with Abilify. I'm glad that tianeptine seems to be helping you in some way, though. If you don't mind me asking, for about how long have you been taking the medication?

you can order it online, it's not much of a big diffrence in mood, but i usally only take 12.5 twice a day, i don't want to go over that, there have been people reported using it above that but i don't want to take that chance and use the drug in nonsense manner

it's effects are somewhat noticable but not a major diffrence from prozac, and acutally i read it does the oppsite of what prozac does, it increases the reuptake while fluoxetine blocks reuptake but they both increase serotonin but in opposite ways, it's kinda confusing because that would deminish it's effects

thanks, it does have anti-anxiety effects, and reduces glutamate, but it just confusing because various sources say it works against prozac, and thn others say it's an antidepressant enhancer
