I have no experience with piracetam.

Reading is my most difficult cognitive challenge. The only thing that has helped it is an improvement in depression.

I don't think it would hurt to try piracetam. Levetiracetam (Keppra) at very low dosages has been shown to improve mild cognitive impairments, especially memory. I developed no additional cognitive impairments with high-dosage levetiracetam.

"...monotherapy over 1 year revealed significant improvements in the following domains...verbal and visual attention, psychomotor speed, mental flexibility, executive function, verbal fluency and word generation."

What about pramiracetam? As I remember, it is supposed to work better than piracetam. I don't know if it is available, though.

Thanks for your input Scott. Pramiracetam is available as far as im aware and is a more potent form of piracetam but im not sure if it would would work well or interact with my Lamotrigine. Im considering asking my doctor to up my Lamotrigine dose currently 75mg. At this dose it helps me sleep and also may help me concentrate at the much higher levels that can be used. Alternatively there are Choline Bitartrate or Alpha GPC or CPD Choline all of which allow for greater production of acetycholine in the brain. thanks Scott(SLS)
