help dementia caused by nardil

Posted by rental_muse on August 12, 2015, at 12:33:11

i took nardil 90 mg a day for ten days filled by an online pharmacy called jan drugs. i had previously taked nardil for depression and had great effect but this time around i just felt terrified and anxious with no mood improvement. i stopped it after 10 days but noticed to my horror that i could barely understand or rememember anything. i am now suffering from severe dementia. how can this happen with nardil? does anyone one know if nardil can burnout the brain cells...any idea what happened.
can anyone speculate what happened and what i can try as an antidote.
i checked with neurologist who determined that i have b12 deficiency...can taking b12 reverse this?

Sounds like you've seen a Dr. I believe it could be B-12, B-6, D, testosterone and other supplements could reverse it. Also could be temporary aggravation of your depression. Nardil may have destablised you. I really think your condition is temporary. Friend, I can relate to your suffering. You are not alone. It will pass. You were able to get your post on Dr. Bob. Relax.

I had a similar experience from taking 1 (one) Topiramate tablet. I couldn't decipher how to get from my porch to inside my home! Another time with discontinuing Modafinil, driving home from work and couldn't remember "Stop on red or stop on green?" It was horrifying, traumatic. I play musical instruments I could barely play a song. It took over a month to get back to normal and I still live with the fear in my memory. Possibly PTSD from it.
If it's any comfort, I took Nardil for 10 years. I piloted an aircraft 400 hours while on Nardil. I believe it is a good neuroprotective med and I have benefited from it. Keep us posted. I'm confident you will recover fully. We're here for you.

I don't think there is adequate science yet to explain dementia, but I believe it to be an accumulation of toxicity throughout a lifetime. Pesticides, herbicides, glutens, aluminum, cadmium, mercury, lead, gmo foods.
Being that it was so sudden, maybe nardil was toxic in some way? Bad batch? There are thousands of complaints that today's new nardil is generally less effective than before, and that it is significantly more problematic than before, so who knows.
Maybe receptors got somehow overloaded? Maybe neurotransmitters of one type, were taken up into receptors of a different type? For example, excess serotonin being taken up in norepinephrine reuptake pumps because the serotonin ones were overloaded and temporarily clogged....or maybe excess NE going into DA reuptake....I've read about all of these from scientific studies at pubmed library of science....but anyway if that hypothesis were true then it should clear out as soon as they recover from the confusion. ???

I don't know. Interesting.

But for sure, I'm really sorry that has happened. That would be a scary thing for anybody! I pray you get well soon!
