RJ,
I don't have an answer to your question, but I wanted to congratulate you on quitting smoking. Giving up cigarette smoking is definitely a positive step to take, and I think that it's commendable that you've "kicked the habit," so to speak.

It's not the e-cigs that are making you "clear your throat." It's the long-term build up of tar in your lungs from regular cigarettes. You're going to be coughing that up for a while, and that's a good thing.

I read in the textbook that smoking increases the risk of ovarian cysts / eptopic pregnancy (where an egg gets stuck in the fallopian tubes instead of making its way along them and then out).
There are cilia in the fallopian tubes and in the airways. They are there hair like projections that wave about and help move the egg along the fallopian tubes, or the dust and gunk along out of the airways.
Apparently it isn't smoking, specifically. Apparently it is actually nicotine that paralyses the cilia.
SO.. Maybe that explains it.

Its not the nicotine, its the left over tar from ciggs. I'm almost totaly quit cigs and still regularly puffing ecig. I don't clear my throught much at all anymore. And when I go for a few days with no tobaco I don't clear my throught at all.
This is the end of the thread.
