Check this out. They got a name for their lead compound.
The most exiting drug development for me. I follow whats going on on a regular basis.
Prolly will hit the market (if successful) this decade.

Glyx-13 is administered i.v.
NRX-1074 is administered orally
More hope:hydroxynoketamine (HNK) - ketamine metabolite that does NOT bind to NMDA receptors. It is taken orally and does not produce the dissociative or pyschotic side effects of ketamine.

Is HNK dopaminergic?
Could it be combined with Rapastinel for ultimate efficacy?

Scott,
can you post a few links?
Is HNK in clinical trials??

> Is HNK dopaminergic?
That's a difficult question to answer. Even if HNK (hydroxynorketamine) does not act directly on DA neurons, it may lead to an increase in DA activity secondarily downstream. I don't really know.
> Could it be combined with Rapastinel for ultimate efficacy?I'll have to review the properties this drug possesses. The recent animal data, indicates that administration of HNK should be sufficient.

Apparently, HNK is not yet in clinical trials. One would have to rely on animal data indicating antidepressant activity.
Check out the action of HNK to reduce D-serine in degenerative disorders like Alzheimers and Parkinsons.
