Hi,there. Talked to my pdoc, and he said that 100mg of Amisulpride (Solian) is added to the combo (200mg of Lamictal,10mg of Abilify) for the purpose of tackling some minor negative symptoms from schizoid personality disorder.
Now I feel much better. Didn't know whether Amisulpride (Solian) contributed to the improvement or not.

It's possible, but the improvement may to due to Abilify - you see, because Abilify has a much higher affinity for dopamine receptors than amisulpride, it may prevent other antipsychotics from binding to the receptors. In a similar way, it also reduces the risk of other antipsychotics elevating prolactin (although it's less effective against amisulpride-induced hyperprolactinemia because amisulpride reaches very high levels in the pituitary gland).
I wouldn't generally advocate starting two antipsychotics so close together. In fact, most people are probably best treated with one antipsychotic unless there are compelling reasons for using more than one.
This is the end of the thread.
