going from 30 mg of Cymbalta to 20 mg of Prozac. staying on 30 mg of Cymbalta 1 week and starting 20 Prozac the same week ...does this seem logical. and can anyone compare the 2 for anxiety/ocd?

I"m not a doc, but...I'd be kinda scared. Prozac will raise cymblata levels and I think there's a serotonin syndrome risk. ugh.
Can your doc pick one and run with it?

Prozac first ad ever took and was not depressed. By day three anxiety was so bad dc'd it and flushed the rest. Took three days to feel normal again. Cymbalta was really good for back pain. Why does you doc want prozac? Phillipa

prozac becomes more of a good OCD medication at around 40-60mg's, 20mg is not really gonna effect much, it will improve mood slightly but it's at the higher doses of prozac is when it starts changing the serotonin levels signifantly to stop obsession thoughts.....but prozac is also known to cause hypomania to new users......i've taken it for 10 year and my body has adapted to it.....
ask the doctor if you can bump it up to 40mg to see it's effects.....

i think so too, usually you need a bigger dose of SSRI for OCD than you need for Depression. I wouldn't give up on prozac until i tried at least 60mg

Prozac has far more data supporting its efficacy in treating OCD than Cymbalta does.
