Latuda or Seroquel

Posted by Phil on September 25, 2014, at 10:22:24

Seroquel has made things better but extreme weight gain, dystonia are not fun. Also it's not exactly keeping me stable. Other meds: Lamictal 300mg, clonazepam 1.5mg. Thanks to a poster here I found that I can get a fair price on it but I'm not sure whether to switch and there's no way to know if it will help if I do. These ratings are not that encouraging but they probably don't come from babblers.
any input appreciated. I have Bipolar I. I will have to take it myself to know if it will work but need more input if possible. I'm not staying in bed for weeks, I'm not that depressed but I'm not exactly stable with depression or mania.
babbler since '99.

I like these questions on meds. thanks sls if you thought of it. These questions are directed at latuda or geoden only, not polypharmacy. I'll wait on that for later. Your experience.....

1. Diagnosis?
2. Dosage?
3. Therapeutic effects?
4. Side-effects?
5. Reasons for discontinuation?
6. Would you recommend it to others?

Very individual thing. I stick to Seroquel.

Geodon: Akathisia and weird tiredness
Latuda: The same

I don't remember dosages.

i havment been on latuda it's fairly new...but from what i've heard it's well tolerated, but i don't know it's psyhological effects.....

i have been on geodon 2 times, and both where at the maximun doses, 160mg, it kinda just brings you back to earth, it's not sedating and mind altering like zyprexa or the sedation from seroquel......it just .... yea brings you kinda back to earth if you having agitation from mania, or mood disorder....it is a vary good med i have to say.....it causes weigh loss too from couple sources i read, opposely seroquel and zyprexa cause weigh gain

yea maybe ask about geodon really i think it would have a stable effect, no sedation or slow thinking from other neroleptics
