doxycycline improved my depression. does this mean

Posted by Joe Rogan on September 1, 2014, at 20:14:57

Does this mean i am infected with bartonella or chlamydia and am having mental health symptoms from the infection?
I was homeless for awhile as a result of untreated psychotic depression. They said I was "schizoaffective disorder" at the mental hospital. I am on zyprexa 15mg (4 days ago: doxycycline 100mg/Day for 2 weeks) on desipramine 50mg and generic adderall xr 30mg depakote er 750mg nicotine patch down to 14mg and remission after taking doxycyclie. When i say remission i mean that I was on the 21mg patch _and_ smoking cigs now i dont smoke at all..i was also drinking tons of soda. Nsty depression with psychotic features and ocd like symptoms. The third day of doxy I went and rented a place finally after 3 years of suffering from mental instability. it is either bartonella or chlamydia w/o ANY symptoms for years? Or desipramine kicked in by week #5? All the desipramine seems to do is make me horny and give me motivation to do my work..not to learn though.
My premise is that psychotic depression (plus biochemical or infectious causes)needd to be ruled out before scizoaffective disorder can hold true. Now that doxycycline monohydrate saved me and got me a room helped me quit soda and cigarettes i think this is an internal medicine issue. Apparently bartonella can lead to major depressive disorder and i did live in a flea infested house with grungy cats..i did it to save money on ssi. Im really introverted and i want to try luvox and see if it gets me a job and girlfriends like the days of my youth. I want off the zyprexa because it makes me somnolent and i cant get up in the mornings. Im also interested in 4mg a day of reboxetine for my adhd.. with due time of course.. want to work with the doctor more. I dont seem to have much motivation to learn new things. Like sitting through ged study is difficult. Plus another annoyingth ing is social paralysys with girls they can give me the body language but i just sit there wishing i could reciprocate...lsd and mdma use to help with that. I think bullying and being a former special education school ditching street youth traumatized me. The bully was cool with me hed always let me chill at his house he would drive me around and we partied..but it kinda messed up my sense of self confidence. Anyways this is also being posted in the psychology support board..maybe i'll get my life together.

Apparently there may be signifigance to the respiratory chostochronditis and illness that sent me to the ER when i moved into that flea house. That or it is chlamydia..Prednisone they gave me made me feel very well..able to run and be strong..time for dinner I will check this later

This is very interesting. Thanks for posting it.

I wouldn't want to comment on the probability that your psychiatric symptoms are due to Bartonella infection. However, according to the article, a case study was described wherein the patient failed to respond to doxycyline.

My psychiatrist has had success using doxycycline to treat his Lyme Disease (Borrelia burgdorferi) patients.
