So i've been on risperdal a total of maybe two months now including my baby steps of 1/4 of a .25 pill.
About 3 weeks ago i started having bloating and nausea and just other gastric problems so bad that by the end of the day i could barely sit in an upright position and had to recline back because the bloating was horrilbe that everything was getting pushed up under my rib cage.
Along with this came a ton of constipation. So bad also that i ended up having to go to my Dr. because between the bloating and constipation i was in sooooo much pain!
The thing is about the same time 3 weeks ago i also had started Metformin, Metformin i KNOW can cause these problems so i thought at first it was from the met. I started taking miralax and after 8 days on that junk and no relief i finally went to my Dr. where he thinks it is the risperdl. I did stop temporarily the metformin to see if that helped, i stopped the miralax to see if that was adding to it and still i feel so horrible with all this gastric stuff going on.
I am to stop the risperdal NOW to see if it makes all the gastric problems go away but am terrified to stop taking it for return of the mood/anger issues to rear their ugly heads again in full force with cold turkey :(
so anyways mainly just wondering if anyone had these kind of gastric problems with risperdal and maybe even if it was dose related because i am only on 37.5 when it all started but back down now to .25 and going to go down by 1/4 of a pill for like 3 nights at a time but i really want to just cold turkey to see if i can get some relief from all this stuff going around in my tumick.
thanks for any and all input!
