I've been on viibryd for 3 weeks or so and I like the combination of AD and anxiety cognitive effects. However I'm dog tired starting about 2pm and it's not abating.
I'm using ritalin and/or vyvanse to keep me going in the afternoon. It's not ideal and we're looking at provigil if we can get it covered. So far I like it better than any of my other regimens, but needing the stims seems kind of untenable.
Viibryd seems to be activating for most. I'm a little worried that it makes me so tired. No one seems to know why!

I don't know that using stimulants to counteract fatigue from other meds is ideal, but its relatively common.

It is "OK" because you must ask yourself: will I be able to sustain vilazodone therapy without the use of stimulants?
If the answer is no and vilazodone therapy concomitant with stimulant medication improves your quality of life then I would say that it is OK under the direction of a qualified doctor.
Consider dexmethylphenidate IR (Focalin) or other instant release stimulant remedies.
Good luck!

Stims have the benefit of treating depression better than Provigil or Nuvigil.
I've been on Vyvanse for many years. I've had no problems.
