I'm taking Latuda 80 mg for schizophrenia. I've been getting it for free through Patient Assistance but I no longer qualify for PA as Medicare Part D drug coverage becomes effective August 1st. So I no longer get free pills. I have to pay out-of-pocket until Part D drug coverage becomes effective. It's going to cost me $751 for a month's supply at 80 mg. That's $25 / pill. That's just crazy, but I really need this medicine.

I have a family inheritance that will help cover the cost. Thank God for this inheritance!
Cheers. :-)

So expensive though. If it weren't for the inheritance I'd be screwed. I can't wait for drug coverage to kick in.
As an aside, I admit that I'm supposed to be taking 40 mg of Latuda rather than 80 mg. I just got sick and tired of hearing voices so I temporarily increased the dose. I feel a bit more lucid and, most importantly, I'm not hearing voices right now. So I think that I made a sound judgement call. I've been taking 80 mg for only the past few days. I'm taking another 80 mg tomorrow, then I'm back to 40 mg until my pdoc appointment next Thursday. I'm really hoping my pdoc increases Latuda to 60 or 80 mg. Psychosis truly sucks.
Thanks for reading. :-)

VBS the price is ridiculous!!!! And the people it seems that require it need it in order to rid themselves of voices so they can work if able. It's just not fair. I am so glad you can get your med though. Phillipa

Thanks Phillipa. I'm certainly glad that I can afford the heavy price until drug coverage becomes effective August 1st.

My pdoc increased Latuda from 40 mg to 80 mg. He also gave me samples of med. I'm quite happy about this as it saves me $751! Score!
