I keep reading about "Psychedelics" helping with Anxiety & Depression
Often in cases that didn't respond to "normal" treatments
Of course most of the evidence for these benefits are from using Psychedelics in safe environments with a Sitter or Therapist ect.
Anyone have any experience with this?
Or is it just a one way ticket to a Bad Trip?!By Psychedelic I mean Psyclobin Mushrooms
Not LSD!!!

I don't think it will help. Never did for me. They are just fun. Have not in 2 decades.

Seems like a bit of a lottery to be honest

Not that I have heard of from my doc, apart from medicinal mj. But I think that accounts for her laid back approach to her practice, to be honest.
Not for anxiety ridden me.

psychedelics-shrooms and lsd-have long been investigated as treatments for anxiety and depression. There have been many positive studies for both drugs but just as many studies highlighting the sometimes devastating side effects. Psilocybin mushrooms contain Psilocin which has a high affinity for the 5-HT2A serotonin receptor in the brain, where it mimics the effects of serotonin. Deceased suicidal and otherwise depressed patients have had more 5-HT2A receptors than normal patients. These findings suggest that post-synaptic 5-HT2A overdensity is involved in the pathogenesis of depression-this means overuse of mushrooms can lead to ddepression.
