Isn't there generally an adaptation period where presynaptic receptors have to be downregulated first? or should they work instantly?

For me, I felt the effects of Mirapex pretty much instantly.
but it wasn't anything like normal dopamine increasing meds, because it had zero effect on my mood. the only thing it did for me was make me physically more sensitive to "stimulation".
