This is taking wsy too long. its going on 3 months now.10 days ago i found out the hospital where i was seeking to have it done wouldn't accept my insurance, nor would they let me finance it. then on the same day i found a hospital that would let me finance it, though they don't accept my insurance either. so it will cost about $450 per treatment for me. then i contacted my pdoc the same day to get her to send a referral... but nope! She wasn't interested. she had memake another appointment.. which i hsd to wait 10 dsys for (which i just got back from) and did she have some bright idea for me? Nope! She just wanted to prescribe the "new" drug Fetzima.......... i haven't been responding to any med I've taken in the past 4 years! I am done wasting my time. i will try this "new" drug, which is basically just a reformulation of meds I've tried.
I do not have the mental health to keep wasting my time. why does there have to be so many road blocks in the way of me having ECT? I'm begging for it. people who have fought to NOT have it done have gotten it mmuch faster than i have.
So now, I'm considering having my regerral sent to the doc who does ECT, and then going to his office and making a scene if i have to. if it will help me have ECT done faster.
my pdoc today was considering commiting me. but i told her id be safe, after she told me the place she was sending me didn't do ECT. So basically, her idea was to have me locked up in a room as a replacement for the potentially lifesaving treatment i need.
I'm not going to go through the whole process of getting a referral, getting my records sent over, waiting for my appointment date for the consultation, then having my appointment made for ECT, Tthen waiting for that date. ESPECIALLY WHEN ECT MIGHT IN NO WAY
BENEFIT ME. or only do harm to me.(Oh and i see that some of my spelling is horrible, but I'm on a tiny android phone and I'm horrible at working it)

And I just got a call from my pdocs office letting me know the new ECT Doc isn't accepting grab patients for ECT.
I have realized how some get pushed so far that they end up doing something that ends up on the national news. Before I stepped into the world of Psychiatry, I couldn't imagine being made into the person I am today - by psychiatry.
